Starting your Art Business

If you have been thinking of selling your art, this seminar is a great place to start.  The New York State Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College will present a “Business Basics” class on how to start selling your art.  No matter the medium whether you paint, draw, sew, work in clay, etc.  Information will be provided on how to formalize your business- review of business structures, licenses and permitting needed to sell your art.   Business planning including how to write a business plan, monetary start-up needs, financial projections and selling price.   We will discuss selling in person at events, online, and marketing and advertising.  An overview of taxes and recordkeeping will be included.  In addition to the presentation there will be time for questions and answers along with the option to have additional one on one free business consulting services.
