OSHA Update s
This session will provide an overview of current initiatives within OSHA. Learn where OSHA is currently focusing their enforcement and compliance assistance/outreach efforts. This session will also cover recent occupational fatalities in WNY, OSHA’s multi-employer citation policy, an overview on how to navigate the OSHA website and compliance assistance resources.
OSHA Recordkeeping
Confused by OSHA recordkeeping rules? Who is supposed to keep records for injuries and illnesses? What injuries and illnesses do I need to record? Are there time limits for reporting certain injuries and illnesses? What records do I need to keep and for how long? Do I need to report records electronically? What records must be posted in the workplace and when?
This session will cover OSHA’s recordkeeping rules and answer all these questions and more. If you have your own recordkeeping questions, be sure to bring them to this session!

The ABC’s (or TICUR’s) of Fall Prevention
This session will cover the basics of fall prevention primarily in construction but will also lightly touch on the fall protection requirements in general industry as well. Learn about passive, active and administrative fall prevention systems. Is one preferable over another? Learn what fall protection is required for roofers, non-roofers and maintenance workers who may need to service equipment located on a roof.
Your Instructor: Mr. Gordon DeLeys, Compliance Assistance Specialist, OSHA
Mr. DeLeys has worked for the Buffalo Area OSHA Office for the past 32+ years. He has held the position of Industrial Hygienist, Assistant Area Director for Health Compliance, Acting Area Director and Compliance Assistance Specialist. In his role as a Compliance Assistance Specialist, he provides information to groups on how to comply with the OSHA regulations. He also works with high-performing worksites in helping them to continually improve their existing safety and health management systems through the Voluntary Protection Program.
